29-year-old man charged with murder of Dublin man Anthony Fowler

A 29-year-old from Finglas has been charged with murder.

A 29-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with the murder of Dublin man Anthony Fowler.

Ryan Brennan of Lanesborough, Finglas was remanded in custody following his appearance in court this afternoon.

63-year-old Anthony Fowler was found with injuries at his home on Dunsink Green, Finglas, on 26 November last year.

He was taken to Connolly hospital where attempts were made to save his life, but he passed away shortly after.

Brennan appeared before Judge Grainne Malone in the Dublin District Court this afternoon.

He wore a black jacket and tracksuit bottoms.

Stephen O’Mahony, the solicitor representing Brennan in the case, said he had been granted legal aid as he is not working at this time.

No plea was indicated and Brennan is due to next appear before the courts on 10 October via video link at Cloverhill District Court.

Garda Sergeant Shane Behan from Finglas Garda Station appeared before the court and said that he arrested Brennan at 2.40pm today, and that Brennan made no reply after being cautioned.
